Lois Banner, more commonly known as Lois W. Banner (born 1939) is an American feminist author. She received her Ph.D. at Columbia University. She is the author of the textbook Women in Modern America: A Brief History, which is commonly used in introductory Women's Studies college classes. Her newest work, Intertwined Lives : Margaret Mead, Ruth Benedict, and Their Circle, narrates in an exploratory style the secrets of the lives of these two intellectual anthropologists. Currently, she is a History professor at the University of Southern California.
